I
was waging a full on war on my cold last. I took a ton of vitamin C and Zinc yesterday. I drank so much Orange juice that my tongue went numb. I finally came to realize that my cold will run its course. It’s not going to go away overnight. I woke up this morning with my head feeling as though it was three times its normal size. At least I don’t have a headache, which is a very good thing. I haven’t worked out since friday and I’m going stir crazy. I think I’m losing all my muscle mass. I’m going to attempt to go the gym today for a workout. Sweating usually helps. Many studies say that one should rest if they have a cold, but working out helps me feel better and more importantly, keeps me sane. So I will run a few miles on the treadmill and then lift some weights. I can’t let this cold beat me.
I distracted myself from my cold last night by watching the 2012 Golden Globes awards, while working on my website. I wasn’t very interested in the Golden Globes this year because it just seemed that it would be more of the same thing as every other year. More of the same people, making the same kind of movies and winning awards. Once again, this awards season, we are winning awards for playing maids and servants. Idris Elba did win for being a detective, in a BBC show, so I guess that was a good thing. Morgan Freeman, whose work I love, won an achievement award. He received the award from another actor whose work I admire and respect, Sidney Poitier. They showed a clip from the film Morgan Freeman made about 100 years ago called ‘Driving Miss Daisy’. I have not seen it nor do I have a desire to see it. He played a servant….I mean a driver in it. Morgan Freeman looked great and as usual, spoke in the voice of God.
Ricky Gervais cut into everyone last night. No one was spared. He dissed Kim Kardashian, calling her trashy. He cut into Madonna, Helen Mirren, Eddie Murphy, Colin Firth and Johnny Depp. By the way, what was that accent Johnny Depp was doing last night? Everybody seemed scared and the network smiled all the way to the bank. They love Ricky Gervais because since he started hosting the show, the ratings have gone through the roof. Who cares about a few hurt feeling huh… He kept the show on time. It didn’t run over because Ricky would talk about anyone who spoke for too long. He was great. He was funny. I’m not sure if they’ll bring him back to host next year. I know one thing, if they do, I’ll be watching.
Now I have to get up and make breakfast. What to eat….What to eat…..What would you eat if you had a cold? Definitely scrambled eggs…I’m not in the mood nor do I have the energy to cut and cook sausages. We will see. Thank God that my fridge is stocked. Some people don’t have food to eat. We have to be thankful for that. I might just end up eating leftovers….
