THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT

I woke up this morning feeling quite reflective. The past 30 days have been full of amazing events. I took a much awaited trip home after being away for 18 years, where I got so much love and respect. I’m still super charged from the trip. Check out images from my trip to Nigeria below. A day after coming back to Nigeria, I flew to LA to be the lead in Kaya Jone’s video. The video will be huge with tons of press and controversy. It’s already been written up on Bossip.com , the largest urban site.  I can’ wait for it to come out. Then I had a great Christmas and New Year. This was quickly followed by a photo shoot with my friend and photographer Ja’Dee for News 12 in NYC.

As if all this were not great enough, the two biggest bloggers in Africa, Linda Ikeji( http://lindaikeji.blogspot.com/ ) and Bellanaija.com both wrote pieces on me. That is truly huge, for my own Nigerian journalists to recognize the hard work I’m doing in the States. Even I had been away for so long, they showed me love.  That was truly fulfilling. Then the big one came; the cover of Vanguard Allure!

I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity and strength to take on all these projects. I was gifted the strength to continue to stay prepared for when any of these calls came. I was in Nigeria where I could have let myself go and gained weight, but I had the strength to stay focused. I feel truly blessed.

I would like to thank every single one of you for continuing to support everything I do. Knowing that you are behind me gives me all the strength I need to push forward in this sometimes, brutal business. I will keep pushing forward to inspire you to greatness. For all that you are, I say….

I NEED A REST DAY

It’s almost 1pm on saturday in NYC and I feel like I need to either go back to sleep, take a nap or do something drastic to allow my brain to shutdown. I feel as though I’ve been moving non-stop for the past month. Nigeria was a whirlwind, waking up at 6am to workout and then running to meetings and press engagements for he rest of the day. As if that were not hectic enough, the trip back to New York was extremely long as well. I had to travel from Lagos, Nigeria to NYC with a stop in Houston, for a total travel time of 22 hours. I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought my ticket. Why did I not book a non-stop flight to Nigeria? I guess that’s what happens when you don’t go home for 18 years.

Within 24 hours of coming back from Nigeria, I had to get on a 6 hour flight to LA. Chineke nyelu m aka! (God  help me, in Ibo). The shoot for the Pussycat Doll’s Kaya Jones’ music video was so much fun. I play her boyfriend in the video. It’s a very high-end-sexy style shoot. Kaya and I are in a bedroom with curtains and sheets flying. The camera work was amazing. It looks a lot like a high end perfume commercial. I’m finally home in New York and I don’t think I will be going anywhere until after the holidays. I’m going to force myself to sleep, even if it kills me. It will kill me if  don’t rest. I took a walk earlier this morning. It was very cold, but the sun was out. Sunlight makes everything and everyday great. I’m sitting on my bed while writing this blog post and i think I will slide my laptop to the side and lay down for a nap. My eyes are getting quite heavy . I would usually fight going to sleep, but not today. I hope you are out there taking the world by storm, or in your bed napping.

I’M POSTING THIS FROM OVER 10,000 FEET!!!

This is soooooo cool!!! This is the first time I’ve actually used the wifi on a plane. I’m on my way to LA, California and blogging!! Shoutout to Delta for providing free wifi. I got a text message from my publicist in LA, asking me if I wanted to be the lead in Kaya Jones’s music video. Kaya Jones was a member of the Pussycat Dolls. The only catch was that it shoots in LA tomorrow. Damn!! I just came back from a long flight from Nigeria on monday and getting on another plane for at least 6 hours didn’t sound very exciting. I’m a hustler though, so I had to quickly wrap my mind around packing my bags and get my ass to the airport.

It is holiday season, so most flights were full. The best chance I had was to try to get on the first flight out of New York city. That flight leaves at 6.55am. Early as hell. I knew that I wouldn’t get much sleep because yesterday, I went to the boxing gym and worked out with my trainer after which I had a late lunch with a friend of mine. We went one of my favorite spots in NYC, Blue Smoke. Blue Smoke is a BBQ spot. I love BBQ. I got home at about 8 and wanted to relax, watch a little TV and veg out. I planned to pack in the morning. I looked at the time again and it was 11pm. I had to lay down or else I wouldn’t get any rest. I ended up staying up for another and now I’m paying for it. I did take a nap though, so I’m doing too badly.

I can’t wait to get to LA. I get there in about two hours, at 10.30. I would like to go to the gym once I get there and get it out of the way. I know that it will get hectic later on in the day and I wouldn’t be able to get it in if I don’t do it as soon as I get there. I will probably run, shadow box and then lift weights. I’m not sure which gym I’m going to workout in, but I will get in for sure. What are you doing today?
