BLACK MALE MODEL IMAGES – EXCLUSIVE IMAGES FROM MY BRAND NEW SHOOT

It was a battle to wake up this morning. My bed would not let me get up. No matter how hard  I worked to get out, it kept pulling me back in! I finally won and that’s how I’m able to write this blog.

It’s been a challenge getting back to the level of leanness that I had before I started boxing. The body for boxing is designed differently from a body for modeling. The boxing boxing body is designed for performance, so it holds a little more body fat for power and protection. The modeling body on the other hand, just has to be muscular and super lean. No need for for power here. My fight has been to get leaner without losing my speed and power. I still do my boxing workouts everyday and I don’t want to lose my boxing edge for sparring.

I was finally able to acheive this and as luck would have it, a shoot came up with a top photographer yesterday and I think these two pictures show that I’m getting closer to my goal of being lean without losing power.

What do you think?

PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN AND KEEPING PUSHING FORWARD

It’s saturday again. It feels like it was saturday yesterday. Time flies when you are busy. Worry starts to creep in when you hear the sounds of the crickets. All good though. I love saturdays. Sometimes when you are creating a new business model, it seems as though the world is against you. No one understands what you are doing or why you are doing it. They just want to maintain the status quo. We have to remember that leaders are the people that break the mold. Leaders are the ones who dip their finger in untested or untasted waters and put it to their tongues, so that others may drink and live. When the feeling of doubt enters your mind, remember to put your head down and keep pushing forward!! You were born to lead!!

Determined to do things that no other black or white male model would do, I decided to attend a couple of events last night, even though I knew I had to run to the gym right afterwards for some sparring. I cannot miss an opportunity to market and proomote my brand and the events last were major. I attended an event called “Written Offerings’ which featured graffiti art work, photographs, and music. The photographs were by Elizabeth Jordan and were of children and images from Haiti. Some of the pictures were of  sick kids’ faces with the images enlarged on a canvas, so that the attendees, including me, could write short letters to the kids on the images. The money raised from the pieces went to charity. It was interesting to spar after drinking a few glasses of wine. I won’t recommend it to anyone, but I felt quite loose during sparring after imbibing. DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE, ENJOY SAFELY AND ALL THAT….

I’m getting to get ready to go to the gym and get my strength training workout in. I have noticed that boxing before I do my strength training has caused me to lose some muscle because I don’t lift as hard after boxing. A part of me likes the leaner, lighter me, but I always enjoy being bigger. I have always loved being bigger. Due to the fact that I was so skinny as a kid, being bigger was always my dream. I have worked on coming to terms with the fact that being bigger does not pay the bills. Being leaner means more work for me as a model. It means more work on screen period. The camera does add 15-20 pounds which makes me look monstrous, especially while standing next smaller actors and actresses.

I have lost about 6-7 pounds since I came back from Nigeria and it shows. My bench press has gone down a bit and so has my squat, but I feel that if I work at it, I can get the numbers back up. Even at a lighter weight, I think that I can move heavy weights. I have to do so in order to be able to move bigger guys around in the ring. Off I go…
