KKK PISSED OFF BECAUSE GEORGIA WON’T ALLOW THEM TO ADOPT A HIGHWAY

I can’t even believe that this is being discussed in the media. Georgia did the right thing. Many people argue that the KKK’s right to freedom of expression was denied when the organization’s application to adopt-a-highway was denied, but there is a huge difference between freedom of speech and supporting a terrorist organisation. The United States does not support terrorist organisations and that was clearly demonstrated by the denial of the KKK’s application.

Citing safety concerns and the organization’s history, Georgia transportation officials said Tuesday they would not allow a local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan to “adopt” a one-mile stretch of highway in North Georgia.

The Klan chapter wanted to clean a stretch of Georgia State Route 515 in Union County, Georgia, according to paperwork obtained by CNN.

The application was filed by the International Keystone Knights of the KKK on May 21.

Keith Golden, commissioner for the state Department of Transportation, wrote the chapter’s secretary that officials determined the mountain roadway, with a speed limit of 65 mph, was not a safe place for cleanup volunteers to work.

Golden’s letter to April Chambers cited other concerns.

“The impact of erecting a sign naming an organization which has a long-rooted history of civil disturbance would cause a significant public concern,” he wrote. “Impacts include safety of the traveling public, potential social unrest, driver distraction or interference with the flow of traffic.”

The chapter did not immediately respond to messages left Tuesday by CNN.

Previously the Klan chapter said it would approach the American Civil Liberties Union if its application was denied.

“All we want to do is adopt a highway,” Chambers said Monday. “We’re not doing it for publicity. We’re doing it to keep the mountains beautiful. People throwing trash out on the side of the road … that ain’t right.”

“We’re not racists,” Chambers said. “We just want to be with white people. If that’s a crime, then I don’t know. It’s all right to be black and Latino and proud, but you can’t be white and proud. I don’t understand it.”

A kinder, gentler Ku Klux Klan? ‘We do not hate anyone,’ imperial wizard says

A similar request in Missouri set off a legal battle that stretched for years and went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. A Ku Klux Klan chapter there sought to adopt a portion of Interstate 55. A federal appeals court ruled the state could not bar the KKK from participating in the program, and the high court declined to review the case, letting that ruling stand.

However, the Missouri Department of Transportation eventually kicked the KKK, a white supremacy group, out of the program because members were not picking up trash as agreed, spokesman Bob Brendel said Monday. The state also named the stretch of I-55 after civil rights activist Rosa Parks, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Georgia has been participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program for more than 20 years. The program provides advertising for sponsors who agree to clean a stretch of road on a sign posted along the stretch.

“Any civic-minded organization, business, individual, family, city, county, state or federal agency is welcome to volunteer in the Georgia Adopt-A-Highway program,” the DOT website says.

Chambers said the group is more than 100 strong. “We have a lot of support,” she said.

“I don’t see why we can’t (adopt the stretch of highway),” she said. “Would it be any different if it was the Black Panthers or something? Someone always has some kind of race card.”

On its website, the International Keystone Knights of the KKK says it is “fed up with the Federal tyranny and oppression of Reconstruction, and the time was ripe for Clandestine Armed Resistance.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups, lists the KKK as “the most infamous — and oldest — of American hate groups.”

“Over the years since it was formed in December 1865, the Klan has typically seen itself as a Christian organization, although in modern times Klan groups are motivated by a variety of theological and political ideologies,” the law center’s website says.

MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY SHOOTER ARRESTED

Damn!!! Say it ain’t so! I just saw on the news that a suspect in the Mississippi highway shootings has been arrested. I am relieved that a serial killer has been caught and taken off the streets. I have to say that I was disappointed to find out that he is a young black man. As if we don’t have enough problems. Read the full story from CNN below.

(CNN) – Authorities have arrested a suspect in the case of an alleged police impersonator who is believed to have killed two motorists in Mississippi, the Tunica County Sherriff’s Office said.

James D. Willie, 28, of Sardis, Mississippi, was arrested and the 9mm handgun authorities say was used in two recent highway shootings was in his possession, the sheriff’s office said.

The arrest may put an end to a case that caused a massive manhunt by law enforcement and created panic and fear for many drivers throughout Mississippi.

“Hundreds of man hours have been devoted to tracking down and arresting this individual,” Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant said. “Public safety is of paramount concern to us. Just as a week ago, with the resolution of the kidnap/murder case in north Mississippi, again we see the effective results of a unified effort of several law enforcement agencies working together.”

Investigators with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation had raised the possibility that someone posing as a police officer was to blame for the shooting deaths of 74-year-old Tom Schlender and 48-year-old Lori Anne Carswell, which happened 55 miles apart in northwest Mississippi.

Willie was arrested Tuesday on an unrelated offense. Authorities found the suspect with a woman who claimed that he raped her.

He was arrested, and the semiautomatic Ruger handgun he had was also taken into custody.

“It was determined after testing by state Crime Lab scientists, the weapon matched the weapon used in two murders in northwest Mississippi last week,” a Tunica County Sherriff’s Office statement said.

The news of this arrest comes a day after authorities said they were questioning a different suspect in the case.

Authorities said a different man was picked up after stopping two drivers Wednesday night. That man, identified as James Lucas, 45, of Yazoo City, was driving a blue Mercury Marquis that used to be a police car and still had flashing blue lights behind its grille, Humphreys County Sheriff Investigator Sam Dobbins said.

Dobbins said investigators searched Lucas’ home and found handcuffs and fake badges.

Early Friday, it was unclear what, if any, connection Lucas had to the case.

CNN DOESN’T GET IT!! NEW VIDEO – COPS DON’T TREAT BLACK PEOPLE AND WHITE PEOPLE THE SAME WAY

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO BELOW!!!!

As much as I respect CNN’s reporting of news all over the world, they are wrong here. I just saw a news segment on CNN about someone killing drivers along Mississippi highways. The CNN specialist that was brought on to talk about the case advised viewers that if a cop is pulling you over, the best thing to do is to turn on you hazard lights, drive slowly, and pull into a well lit, public place. This will not work for black people…

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO BELOW!!!

My issue with this is that in the south and actually in many parts of the country, if a cop is attempting to pull over a black person and do not stop immediately, the cops usually get pissed and you run the risk of getting shot. The same advice was given in Cincinnati,Ohio and a man was shot in White Castle, an extremely public place. For those who don’t know what White Castle is, it is fast food chain, just like McDonalads.

What do you think of this advice?
