50 CENT PARTNERS WITH MANNY PACQUAIO: LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

American rapper 50 Cent has posted a picture  of himself with boxer Manny Pacquiao along with the words ‘Big business moves’  which could impact on his relationship with the Filipino’s rival Floyd  Mayweather.

Rumours about a rift between Mayweather and  50 Cent have been rife ever since Mayweather was released from prison.

Pacquiao’s adivsor, Michael Konz told Boxing  Scene: ’50 Cent and I have been talking now for maybe the last two months. They  approached us with the idea to form a promotional company.

‘Initially it was going to be 50 Cent, Manny  and Floyd. But right now I don’t think Floyd is going to be a part of it. I  explained the idea to Manny.

‘We already have a promotional company, MP  Promotions, and we have already done three separate promotions from Top  Rank…on a small scale. I have to take the blame for that.

‘I’m in charge of it. There is an element  missing there, but I have so much to do with Manny – that I haven’t got that  company to where I want it.

‘I think with 50 Cent, with his entertainment  connections and his popularity there, combining that with Manny’s popularity and  expertise in boxing – we can bring a new flavor to boxing – we can excite some  young boxers and I think we can sign some top quality boxers.

‘I spoke to 50 Cent tonight and confirmed  that we’re going to go forward.

‘Manny is coming here this weekend for other  business, but we’re all excited about it. With 50′s influence in the music  industry – we want to put a different flavor on the shows.’

50 Cent told Power 105.1 there is no problem  between himself and Mayweather and does not think working with Pacquiao will  cause trouble.

‘I think he’ll (Mayweather) go “I wish him  luck”… It’s not like I’m not in communication with him. I texted him and told  him everything.’

Mayweather had set up a promotional company  with 50 Cent, known as TMT (The Money Team).

The company was said in some quarters to have  the possibility to change the boxing scene but it’s website has now been taken  down and the venture looks finished.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, is set to face Juan  Marquez in December and wants to put an end to any doubts regarding his  superiority over his opponent.

Three bouts in eight years have not resolved  the rivalry so they meet again on December 8 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las  Vegas.

The father of African literature authored the 1958 classic, Things Fall Apart which has been translated into over 50 languages and has sold over 10 million copies internationally. CHARLES TAYLOR, FORMER LIBERIAN PRESIDENT, SENTENCED TO 50 YEARS FOR WAR CRIMES

I wake up in the morning and I read of all the carnage going on in different parts of Africa and I wonder how we can do such heinous to things to each other. Africa is the bedrock of civilization yet we behave like barbarians to each other. When will it end? When will things change? When will we learn that we can only move forward when we start loving each other, instead of hate. Charles Taylor did terrible things to Africans, now he’s got his. Read more—

(CNN) — The first former head of state to be convicted of war crimes since World War II was sentenced to 50 years in prison Wednesday by an international court in The Hague, Netherlands.

The court convicted Charles Taylor last month of aiding rebels in neighboring Sierra Leone in a campaign of terror, involving murder, rape, sexual slavery and the conscription children younger than 15.

The prosecution had asked the Special Court for Sierra Leone for a sentence of 80 years for Taylor, the president of Liberia from 1997 to 2003, but the judges found the recommendation “excessive” citing the “limited scope” of the conviction in some points.

There is no death penalty in international criminal law, and Taylor, 64, would serve out his sentence in a British prison.

Taylor directed his gaze downward while Presiding Judge Richard Lussick read the sentencing statement, which included a horror cabinet of atrocities committed in Sierra Leone by rebels the former president backed.

The former Liberian president is appealing his conviction and will receive credit for time already served since March 2006.

He does not see himself as a war criminal but as a victim — a leader wronged by corruption and a hypocritical hand of justice with a political agenda.

“I never stood a chance,” he said last week during his final courtroom stand last week. “Only time will tell how many other African heads of state will be destroyed.”

Taylor made a plea for why he should be spared the harshest sentence for his conviction on aiding and abetting war crimes.

He said he was saddened by last month’s guilty verdict, in which the court said he had assisted Revolutionary United Front rebels who fueled Sierra Leone’s long and bloody civil war that ultimately left 50,000 dead or missing.

Taylor, who has expressed no remorse, has insisted his intent was far from what had been portrayed by prosecutors and described himself as a peacemaker.

He blamed money for an unfair trial, claiming prosecutors received millions of dollars from the United States government and witnesses were paid off.

Last month’s landmark ruling by the Special Court for Sierra Leone against Taylor was the first war crimes conviction of a former head of state by an international court since the Nuremberg trials after World War II that convicted Adm. Karl Doenitz, who became president of Germany briefly after Adolf Hitler’s suicide.

Former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic was tried by an international tribunal, but he died before a judgment was issued.

Taylor, 64, was found guilty of all 11 counts of aiding and abetting the deadly rebel campaign in Sierra Leone and mining diamonds to pay for guns.

The prosecutors failed, however, to prove that Taylor assumed direct command over the rebels who committed the atrocities.

He was a pivotal figure in Liberian politics for decades and was forced out of office under international pressure in 2003. He fled to Nigeria, where border guards arrested him three years later as he was attempting to cross into Chad.

The United Nations and the Sierra Leone government jointly set up the special tribunal to try those who played the biggest role in the atrocities. The court was moved to Netherlands from Sierra Leone, where emotions about the civil war still run high.

JUSTIN BIEBER ACCOMPANIES MAYWEATHER TO VICTORY OVER COTTO

Floyd Mayweather is the ultimate businessman. He had not just 50 Cent accompany him to the ring, but he also had Justin Bieber with him on the way to the ring. The move is so genius because tomorrow, all the Justin Bieber fans who usually would not watch Floyd Mayweather fighting would google Floyd. They will all watch his videosof Floyd Mayweather. They would look at images of Floyd Mayweather. They will then get to know him. They would say “Who is this Floyd Mayweather character, who is our star, justin Bieber”. Advantage Floyd. WINNING!!!!!

It was so interesting to watch Justin walking to the ring with Floyd. He was so scared. He looked like he was going to throw up. Time froze for a second as this thought entered my head. Floyd Mayweather walks clamly through a situation that would terrify many men. The walk to the ring would make many men vomit. The energy was intense. Many men were scared.

Floyd Mayweather is a much larger draw than Manny Pacquiao. I don’t think that he should split the purse 50-50.

Floyd Mayweather is guaranteed $32 million for this fight with Miguel Cotto. Cotto came to fight. He bloddied up Floyd, but Floyd maintained his composure and won.

Exciting Fight!!!
