It’s bright and early on this beautiful Sunday morning. It is tempting to just lay back down and relax, but in order to remain one of the top NYC trainers, the hustle must continue. The baby is still fast asleep, so I can write! If you want anything in this life, you have to work hard for it. That also goes for getting burning belly fat and getting ripped abs.
Many trainers utterly oppose their clients doing ab exercises such as sit-ups, crunches, leg raises etc. They believe that your abs get a good workout when you do strength training exercises such as squats, deadlifts, and bench press. This could not be more wrong. If you want your biceps, chest or legs to stronger, leaner and look more defined, trainers would suggest that you do exercises that specifically target those muscles. Why does the same not apply to abs?
I put this argument to the test. About a year ago, I decided to do ab specific exercises, 5 days a week for the entire year. I believed that this will change the way my abs looked. I believed that by doing this, I would achieve more hypertrophy in my ab muscles, therefore making them more ripped and defined. Judging from the pictures in this post, you can clearly see that I have achieved this look.
There re is no short cut to getting abs. The same way you train your arms or legs or chest, you have to train your abs. If you make your abs an afterthought, it will look like and afterthought. You have do multiple reps over multiple sets, at least two to three days per week, in order to get great results. I think about the greatest ever in body building, Arnold Shwarznegger, http://www.schwarzenegger.com/fitness, and talks training his abs with specific ab exercises.
I have attached a video of one of my sample ab workouts to this post. Check details of the workout below the video:
