I had so much fun on the set of the show today. I woke up extremely early and because I wanted to do a cardio session before I headed over to the shoot for the TV One show. I got it done took a shower and got picked up by the driver. The show was so much fun. Shout out to the entire Triage Entertainment crew. The entire crew was very professional and cool. Check out the pictures from the set.
I got back to my hotel room, looking forward to write and rest before getting on a plane back to New York later on tonite. I turned the TV on and turned the channel to ESPN. I usually watch Sports Sportscenter while I write. By accident, I fell on ESPN Classic, a channel which shows classic, vintage sports games or shows. I’m glad I did. I’m glad because there a special on Wayman Tisdale. I knew Wayman Tisdale was a basketball player, but I didn’t really know who he was as a person. Wayman Tisdale not only was a great basketball player, he worked and became a great jazz musician towards the end of his NBA career. He passed away in 2009, at the age of 44 years old from bone cancer.
His story made me cry. I wasn’t sad because he died, because we will all die someday. I cried because he was such a happy and positive person. What struck me the most was the fact that no matter what he was going through, he had a smile on his face. Even when he found out that he had cancer, he had a smile on his face. Even when his right leg was amputated, he had a big smile on his face. He was determined to beat it. He was determined to make everybody happy while he fought for his life. His most recent release, Rebound, was written and released after he was diagnosed with cancer. Tisdale’s experience led him to establish the Wayman Tisdale Foundation to raise funds to help amputees with the prosthetic process, which is not always covered by health insurance. It was extremely important to leave a legacy because we will all be gone one day, but our legacy will live forever.
I’m so happy I watched because it strengthen’s my resolve to work hard to leave a great legacy. What will you leave behind?
